Welcome to The Ivy Branch
A place where love lives on, grief finds gentleness, and stories remind us we are never alone.
Hi, I’m Sydney Sanders, RN, BSN — a nurse, the mom of Ivy Irene, and the heart behind The Ivy Branch.
For more than a decade, nursing has been more than my profession — it’s been my purpose. As a NICU nurse, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside families through some of the most fragile and formative moments of their lives. The opportunity to directly impact the health and well-being of others while continually learning, growing, and giving has kept me inspired year after year.
But it wasn’t until I became a mom to my own special girl, Ivy Irene, that my passion and purpose truly came into focus. Ivy’s life changed the way I see the world, the way I practice nursing, and the way I connect with others. Through both heartache and hope, I’ve learned that healing isn’t just about medicine — it’s about presence, compassion, and connection.
Every story matters. Every life leaves a mark. And every act of love has the power to reach further than we realize.
Whether I’m caring for a tiny fighter in the NICU, supporting parents through uncertainty and loss, or creating space here on The Ivy Branch for stories to be shared, I lead with empathy, advocacy, and love.
This is more than my career — it’s my calling. And this space is a reflection of that — a place where love lives on, grief finds gentleness, and stories remind us we are never alone.
Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here!
The story behind the name
The Ivy Branch was created out of love and in honor of my daughter, Ivy Irene.
Within these pages, you’ll find pieces of my heart — moments from my journey, reflections on grief and growth, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
This space is rooted in Ivy’s life and legacy — a place to share my story, advocate for inclusion, and extend a hand to others walking similar paths.
Whether you‘re navigating a prenatal diagnosis, grieving a loss, or walking a road you never expected, you are seen here. You’re not alone.
